Stage curtains, or theatre curtains is the kind of drapery that covers the background of a theatre or a stage. It may require a large scale of cloth to make the cover sufficient.Unlike other fabric products such as pipe and drape, stage curtain provides a general background atmosphere. But there are things that you may really need to know before you pick out a desired stage curtain.
The Valance. The valance is the most directly shown part, it’s the front cover of your stage curtains. You should choose the color and size carefully for this part.
The Main Drape. This is the body of your whole stage curtains. On the stage, this part is opened up or closed behind between shows and acts. This could easily be very large and you need to find yourself a big enough but also with desirable color cloth.
Backdrop. A backdrop can be emitted on by a ray of lighting to create a spectacular visual effect. A backdrop can either be colored or uncolored, it can be thin or thick. All depends on what type of lighting effects you want.
Curtain leg. A curtain leg refers to the curtain that set between the main curtain and the rear curtain. Despite the name “curtain leg”, it’s actually a piece of fabric, this part is used to open and close between shows and acts, they can be painted with different colors from the main curtain.
Rear curtain. The rear curtain set in the behind, they are used to go along with backdrops if needed.
Well, these are the basic stage curtains part. Of course, you’ll see more complicated components in a larger piece of curtain drape. As far as theatre or stage lighting goes well, you’ll get a nice reward for getting the right one.
